Get in the spirit for the April 6 “Egg Drop Challenge” as you enjoy a silly story by Mini Grey! In Egg Drop, a mother hen tells her chicks about the egg that wanted to fly. “The egg was young. It didn’t know much. We tried to tell it, but of course it didn’t listen.” The egg wants to be like the birds above him. It climbs to the top of a tall tower and jumps. It thinks it is flying, when in fact it is falling. Although this story sounds similar to the traditional nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty, it has a “sunny” ending.
Following the story, design a container that will prevent a raw chicken egg from cracking when dropped from the plank of CMEE’s pirate ship!!! Your container may be constructed elsewhere or you may participate in our Egg Container Workshop being held the day of Egg Drop, Saturday, April 6 at 10am.
