Baby Bliss

Informational, social and very interactive!  Beat the isolation of being a new mommy and join a lively group of new mothers & babies.  Discuss the truth about colic, sleep schedules, feeding issues, balancing time for yourself, returning to work, childcare, and finding baby-friendly activities.

Friday, June 7
Music Together by the Dunes

Join us in this popular Early childhood Music and Movement program for children newborn through age 5 and their Parents or Caregivers. Singing, dancing, rhythmic chants, instrument play and movement are explored in a fun, educational environment. Songbook, CD’s, newsletters and parent guide w/DVD are included with tuition.

The Music Together Babies class is a program for entering infants between the ages of birth and nine months. It starts babies on a pathway of music development that will allow them to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality. Whether or not your child’s journey leads to formal music study is a choice for another day – for now, the particular delight of this class is seeing how truly responsive to music babies are and discovering how to recognize and support their developing music behaviors.

Friday, June 7
Pizza & Pajama Night

During “Pizza and Pajama Night” this month, CMEE features the 2013 Caldicott Medal winning story, This is Not My Hat.  Follow the tale of an overly confident little fish who has just stolen a bowler hat from a big fish. Unbeknownst to the little fish, the big fish is in hot pursuit. Visual humor swims to the fore as the best-selling Jon Klassen follows his breakout debut with another deadpan-funny tale. Children will delight in speculating about what happens at the end of the story.  Following the story time, children will have fun creating and decorating their own silly hats.

Saturday, June 8
Funtastic Science Introductory Class

This summer CMEE will offer “Funtastic” Science, a developmentally appropriate science laboratory for children ages two to four years. The class will be led by Andrea Van Dyke, one of CMEE’s new educators.

Families will enjoy participating in playful activities designed to introduce basic science concepts (buoyancy, motion, physical change, chemical change, etc.). Activities planned for this four week class include: making clay boats (and trying to sink them); making concoctions; and playing with ramps, tunnels and things that roll.

On Saturday, June 8 at 10am, Andrea will be showing families how to make a “bottle” fountain with just a few simple materials. Then, all will enjoy the fun when all the fountains are tested out!

Saturday, June 8
Lego Club

Join us every Saturday from 10am-12 noon for Lego Club at CMEE!  Your child can construct works of art using the thousands of Legos at The Museum.  To help CMEE continue to build this program, we are looking for Lego donations!  Please call 631-537-8250 to donate!
