We are very sad to announce that after nine years at CMEE, Visitor Experience Coordinator, Doug Borge is leaving the Museum for a new position. If you’ve visited the Museum, attended Lego League or participated in any of our events, you are familiar not only with Doug’s youthful spirit but his ability to do just about anything at CMEE. Doug has made an enormous impact on the CMEE community and we know you’ll want to join us over the course of the next few weeks to wish him all the best in his future endeavors! To help say farewell, Doug penned the note below to all the children and families who he’s come to know during his time at the Museum.
It’s been nine exciting years of working for one of the best organizations on the East End. As the Visitor Experience dude, I oversaw your journey from the moment you stepped into the building to your tear-filled exit due to your kid not wanting to leave. I ruled over what I’ve dubbed Team Orange and The Green Team who are comprised of staff, volunteers, and interns who provide all the necessary support into making sure everyone has a BLAST! I won’t bore you with all the administrative duties I’ve done throughout the years but just know I’m leaving the Museum in good hands.
As I move forward into a new career path, I want to share how honored I am to have had the opportunity to work along some of the greatest colleagues and have had the chance to welcome some awesome guests. You guys are a group of intelligent, compassionate, and supportive people that are making a real difference in our community. And who knows, maybe one day I will come visit as a guest. If I do, don’t be afraid to say hi!
Love you all,
