Jessie Sima has become one of my favorite contemporary children’s book writers. With Harriet Gets Carried Away and Not Quite Narwhal, I fell in love with her illustrations and mature storytelling for kids. Sima hits it out of the park again with her brand-new book titled Love, Z. When a bottle washes up with a note inside saying “Love, Beatrice,” Z and her fellow and equally confused robots go looking for this Beatrice and what the word “love” means. A heart-felt book that is enjoyable to read to children as it is for them to hear it.
